This is a neat piece of kit.  It's an adapter bracket that enables you to swap out the R tailpiece on your Rickenbacker for a trapeze tailpiece.  Why would you want to do that?  Because the trapeze looks cooler and is easier to string.  Why do you need this bracket?  Because the R tailpiece bracket is not interchangeable with the stock trapeze bracket.  If you want to make that switch, you have to drill 4 new holes in your guitar.  Four.  And if you ever switch back, those holes will be there for everyone to see.  That's not good.

The upgrade is as easy as can be with this bracket: take off the R bracket and screw this one in.  With the screws that we give you, naturally.
