If your Rickenbacker guitar was originally fitted with a trapeze tailpiece, switching to an R or harp tailpiece used to require drilling new holes for a different bracket and looking at the old holes that the new bracket didn't cover.  No more.  This bracket uses the same mounting holes as the original trapeze bracket.  A quick swap, drop in the new tailpiece and you're good to go.
